Day 1 : 


  • After landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport our ground team will meet you and escort you directly to your private aircraft where you will meet your pilot and get ready for the first leg of your journey to the Elsa's Kopie in Meru National Park. 

  • The flight time to Elsa's Kopie is approximately 1-hour, routing along the eastern side of the Aberdare Mountain Range and Mount Kenya. 

  • After landing at the bush airstrip next to the lodge, you will be welcomed by the friendly lodge staff who will be waiting with a refreshing drink and a cold face cloth. 

  • The game driving vehicle will take you to the lodge for you to check-in and your bags will be taken to your room. 

  • A late afternoon game drive will give you a glimpse of the beautiful landscape and wildlife, made famous by Joy Adamson’s book, “Born Free”, before stopping for a sundowner at a special and private viewing point.

  • Dinner is served around 8PM but before you enjoy the tasty cuisine, you can sit, relax and have a few drinks around the campfire, the perfect time to reflect on the day’s activities.  

Day 2 :


  • You will wake up to the sounds of birds and wildlife in the distance, the perfect wake up call for any nature lover. Coffee or tea will be brought to your room at the time of your choosing, so you can sit and enjoy your hot drink to the sounds of the bush. 

  • After breakfast, you can decide what you would like to do for the day. There many options, from a game drive, exploring the Tana River, or visiting the Rhino Sanctuary. You can even try your hand at some river fishing, or go on a cultural visit to a local homestead of the Tharaka community. This is the perfect place to take in both the local culture and nature that Meru has to offer. 

Day 3 : 

  • After breakfast, you can discuss the best takeoff time with your pilot for the second part of your safari, which will take you to Lewa Kifaru House in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. 

  • You will take a scenic low-level flight around the slopes of Mount Kenya, which will last approximately 40 minutes. 

  • After landing at the Lewa Airstrip you will be met by the camps game vehicle and friendly game guide, who will take you to your new African home for the next 2 days. 

  • The afternoon can be spent on game drives. With one of the biggest rhino populations in Kenya, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy will be your best chance of spotting this elusive and beautiful creature. The conservancy is also home to the “Big Five”, the rare Grevy’s zebra, and has a healthy population of lions and cheetahs. This is only enhanced by the magnificent backdrop of the snow-capped Mt. Kenya, a game drive from Kifaru House is one of the most spectacular in Kenya.

  • Alternatively, you can take a guided walk or a horseback ride through the conservancy. Kifaru House offers evening camel rides for those without riding skills. Camel rides are led by experienced Samburu handlers and camel riders can enjoy a scenic walk through the wilderness and experience the gentle, rolling pace of this traditional Samburu transport. 

  • Evenings are spent relaxing in true African safari style, with evening drinks around the campfire followed by a sumptuous meal. 

Day 4 : 

  • The day will be spent at Kifaru House. After breakfast you can decide what activities you would like to do for the day, if you missed out on something the day before, you will have the chance to enjoy it on your second day. You may just want to relax at the camp and view the passing wildlife before ending the day with sundowners at another special viewing point, the choice is yours. 

Day 5 : 

  • After breakfast, you can discuss your takeoff time with your pilot for the short flight between Lewa and the Loisaba Conservancy. 

  • The flight to Loisaba routes northwest of Mt Kenya over the Laikipia Plateau just to the south of Samburu. The flight will last approximately 30 minutes. ​​

  • After landing at the Loisaba airstrip your game guide and game vehicle will take you on a short game drive to the Loisaba Star Beds Camp for one magical night of sleeping under the stars.

  • In the afternoon you will get to go on another game drive and enjoy a sundowner looking out over the vast and stunning bush landscape that extends as far as the eye can see. 

Day 6 : 

  • Your morning will start with a gentle wakeup call from one of the camp staff, who will bring you your morning coffee or tea, leaving it at the entrance to your tent, so you can enjoy a warm drink in comfort and privacy. You will have the option to go on an early morning game drive or you may decide to enjoy a slow wake up at the camp. 

  • After breakfast, you will be taken back to the airstrip to board your private aircraft for a beautiful leg from Loisaba to the world-famous Maasai Mara. On this flight you will fly over lake Baringo, over the dry savannah of the Pokot and Samburu tribes, followed by a flight over the tea plantations of Kericho. The flight will take just under 2 hours, depending on the amount of sightseeing you wish to do. 

  • After landing in the Maasai Mara you will be taken to the Sand River Camp. Once you have settled in, you can begin planning your game drives and any other activities you wish to do during your stay, including a hot air balloon safari for the next morning (weather permitting). 

Day 7 : 


  • The day starts early with either a game drive or a hot air balloon ride. If you go on a hot air balloon ride you will land on a flat grassy area where you will find a bush breakfast waiting for you.

  • After breakfast, you will return to the camp to relax, have lunch, and enjoy the afternoon, a perfect time to reflect on your safari adventure. 

Day 8 : 

  • On your last day, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before departure to the airstrip for the final leg of your journey back to Nairobi.

  • Upon landing, we will be on hand to help you unload. The strangers you met will feel like long life friends making goodbyes bittersweet, but the experiences gained will be yours to keep forever!
